This Privacy Policy describes how Lunera ("we", "our", or "the app") handles your information. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our practices.

Data Collection and Storage

What We Collect

Lunera collects and stores minimal data locally on your device:

• Pregnancy start date: The date you provide to calculate your current week of pregnancy
• Calculation method: Your chosen method for calculating pregnancy weeks (last menstrual period or conception date)
• Notification preferences: Whether you've enabled or disabled weekly notifications
• Contraction data: Timing sessions, durations, intervals, intensity ratings, and any notes you add — stored locally on your device

How we store your data

All data is stored locally on your device only. This means:

• Your data never leaves your device
• Your data is not uploaded to any server or cloud service

Exception: PRO users who enable iCloud Sync have their contraction data backed up to their personal Apple iCloud account. See the iCloud Sync section below for details.

Widget data sharing

The app uses Apple's App Groups feature to share your pregnancy data between the main app and home screen/lock screen widgets. This sharing happens entirely on your device and does not involve any external servers.

Data We Do NOT Collect

Lunera does not collect, transmit, or process:

• Personal identifying information (name, email, phone number, etc.)
• Health information beyond pregnancy dates
• Location data
• Device identifiers for tracking purposes
• Usage analytics or crash reports
• Any other personal data

Lunera PRO and in-app purchases

Lunera offers an optional one-time in-app purchase ("Lunera PRO") that permanently unlocks additional features: Week Explorer, AI Insights, 5-1-1 Pattern Detection, Guided Breathing, PDF Reports, and iCloud Sync. Here's how your data is handled:

Purchase processing

• Purchases are processed through Apple's App Store (In-App Purchase)
• We use RevenueCat as our payment infrastructure to manage purchase status
• RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID and purchase transaction data from Apple — no personal information (name, email, etc.) is shared
• We do not collect or store any payment details — Apple handles all billing

AI insights feature

The thoughtful insights feature uses Apple's Foundation Models (Apple Intelligence) to generate on-device insights about baby development:

• All AI processing happens entirely on your device
• No pregnancy data, prompts, or generated insights are sent to any server
• No data leaves your phone — everything stays private
• This feature requires iOS 26+ and a compatible device with Apple Intelligence

iCloud Sync (PRO feature)

PRO users have the option to enable iCloud Sync for their contraction data:

• Data is synced through your personal Apple iCloud account via Apple's CloudKit framework
• Only you can access your iCloud data — it is tied to your Apple ID
• We do not have access to your iCloud data
• Sync can be disabled at any time; local data is always preserved
• This is the only scenario where any data leaves your device, and it goes exclusively to Apple's private infrastructure — not to us or any third party

No new personal data

No additional personal data is collected as part of the PRO features. The same privacy principles apply: your data stays on your device (or your personal iCloud account if you enable sync).

Third-party services

Lunera uses minimal third-party services:

• RevenueCat: Used solely for managing in-app purchase status. Receives only an anonymous user ID and Apple transaction data — no personal information

Lunera does not use:

• No analytics services (e.g., Google Analytics, Firebase)
• No advertising networks
• No crash reporting tools
• No cloud storage services
• No social media integrations

Notifications

If you enable notifications:

• Weekly pregnancy reminders are scheduled locally on your device
• Notifications are delivered by iOS at 9:00 AM your local time
• PRO users may receive time-sensitive 5-1-1 pattern alerts when the contraction pattern is detected — these are triggered entirely on your device
• No notification data is sent to external servers
• You can disable notifications at any time in the app's Settings

Data retention and deletion

How long we keep your data

Your data remains on your device until you:

• Use the "Erase All Data" feature in Settings
• Delete the app from your device
• Reset or restore your device

How to delete your data

To permanently delete all your data:

1. Delete the app from your device and all app data will be removed.

Children's privacy

Lunera is designed for pregnant individuals and does not knowingly collect information from children under 13 years of age. The app's content is pregnancy-related and appropriate for users of child-bearing age.

Data security

We take data security seriously:

• The app does not transmit data over the internet
• The app does not require an account or login

Your rights

You have complete control over your data:

• Access: All your data is visible in the app's interface
• Modification: You can change your pregnancy start date or calculation method at any time
• Export: Your data is minimal (a single date and preference) and is displayed in the app

Changes to this privacy policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do:

• The "Last Updated" date at the top will be revised
• If changes are significant, we will notify users through an app update description
• Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy

International data transfers

Since all data is stored locally on your device and never transmitted to external servers, there are no international data transfers.

Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

For users in the European Economic Area, our legal basis for processing your data is:

• Consent: By using the app and entering your pregnancy start date, you consent to local storage
• Legitimate interest: Providing pregnancy tracking functionality requires storing the dates you provide

You may withdraw consent at any time by deleting your data or uninstalling the app.

California privacy rights (CCPA)

For California residents:

• We do not sell your personal information
• We do not share your personal information with third parties
• All data is stored locally on your device
